«The Seduction of Mimi»

One of the most famous films of the Italian director Lina Wertmüller. It stirred up the audience not only in Italy, but all over Europe in 1972.

Many understood this satire as a perfect reflection of the political situation in Italy at that time.

About the film: The simple Sicilian worker Mimi, in his naivety, believes that the local elections are secret. When the mafia finds out that he did not vote for their candidates, he has to emigrate to Turin to work in a factory. There he meets a young left-wing activist. Although she does not want an official relationship with him, she insists on a monogamous relationship. This brings Mimi into serious conflict with his wife left behind in Sicily. And of course the mafia is also involved.
